Nazim Sadykhov vs Terrance McKinney 7/15/2023 Predictions, Free Picks and Odds

On Saturday, July 15, 2023, at UFC Vegas 77, Terrance McKinney and Nazim Sadykhov will face off in the Octagon. Sadykhov is listed at -150 in the opening odds, while McKinney is at +125.

The 28-year-old American’s wrestling skills were well-known in high school, but his knockout ability has made him famous in professional mixed martial arts. McKinney, who participated in NCAA Division II in college, left Notre Dame and entered the pros in 2017. He competed in the LFA and entered the UFC through the Contender Series. In June 2021, the Purple Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu will make his UFC debut against Matt Frevola instead of Frank Camacho. He knocked out the opponent seven seconds into the opening frame, the quickest finish and knockout in UFC Lightweight history. His knockout statistics predate the UFC; for example, in the LFA in 2019, “T Wrecks” had three consecutive knockouts in less than two minutes. He has lost two of his past three matches.

The career record of Nazim “Black Wolf” Sadykhov is 8-1-0. The 29-year-old is 5’10” tall and weighs 155 pounds. The southpaw fighter is 69″ long. Terrance “T. Wrecks” McKinney weighs 155 lbs. and is 5’10” tall. The switch fighter hopes to improve his record, which is at 13-5-0. The 28-year-old now has a 73-foot reach. Terrance McKinney averages 3.78 significant strikes per minute, while Nazim Sadykhov connects at a rate of 5.17 per minute. McKinney connects on 48% of his significant strikes, while Sadykhov lands 52%. “Black Wolf” permits 4.47 significant strikes per minute, whereas “T. Wrecks” absorbs 2.96. McKinney can block 43% of the bullets sent, whereas Sadykhov can stop 56% of the critical hits directed at him.

Nazim Sadykhov is the less proficient wrestler, as seen by the 0.66 times per 15 minutes he submits his opponents. In 85% of his takedown attempts, Sadykhov succeeds, and in 80% of them, he fails. McKinney defends 83% of all takedown attempts made by his adversaries while completing 41% of his takedown attempts. While McKinney attempts 1.4 submissions per 3 rounds, Sadykhov attempts 0.7 submissions per 3 rounds, making him the least likely of the two competitors to try for the finish.

Nazim Sadykhov faced Evan Elder in his last match, winning by TKO after a round three medical stoppage. Elder managed to land 84 of the 158 total blows in that fight. By the conclusion of the evening, Sadykhov had connected on 71 of his 141 attempts. Elder had a 49% success rate with significant strikes, landing 70 of 142 attempts. He ended the battle by connecting on 25 of the 87 vital head-related blows. According to statistics, Sadykhov succeeded in sticking 64 out of 132, landing 48% of his major strikes. He connected on 38 of 103 of those severe hits to the head. Both 84% and 85% of the critical strikes by Elder and Sadykhov were done from a distance.

Terrance McKinney lost to Ismael Bonfim in his final Octagon bout after receiving a flying knee to the head in round two. While McKinney succeeded with 85% of his essential attempts from a distance, Bonfim only landed 70% of the significant blows he took. With 14 of 49 attempted big strikes landing, McKinney had a 28% success rate. He ultimately scored 10 of the 43 big head-directed hits. In the match, Bonfim connected on 34 of 49 crucial swings. He hit the head with 16 out of 30 strikes, according to the substantial strike accuracy. Regarding the overall number of blows he threw in the battle, Bonfim connected on 38 of 53 while McKinney connected on 20 of 55.

Sadykhov, born in Brooklyn, is striving to represent his native Azerbaijan in the MMA world. With a TKO victory over Evan Elder in February, the former Fury FC fighter made a strong entrance into the UFC. That came after his third-round knockout victory against Ahmad Sohail Hassanzada on Dana White’s Contender Series in August last year. The aptly titled “Black Wolf” transitioned from amateur to professional in 2018. His only loss in his professional career—an 8-1 record—came in his first game. The 29-year-old has eight victories and six knockouts.

Nazim Sadykhov vs. Terrance McKinney. This battle has the potential to be incredibly exciting. The most prolonged bout of McKinney’s career, in which Ismael Bonfim defeated him, didn’t even last to the halfway mark. He has yet to see round three in the UFC.

I’m concerned about McKinney’s chin since he has lost to Bonfim and Drew Dober in two of his previous three fights and because of the nasty shot Bonfim gave him.

As seen by his victory over Evan Elder in the third round of his most recent battle, Sadykhov possesses the cardio to still be quite successful late in fights despite the early finishers in his style. If the match isn’t over quickly, Sadykhov will start to draw away since he possesses a variety of offensive moves on his feet that he may use to wear out McKinney.

Except for his first professional bout, Sadykhov has avoided being finished so far, and I believe he avoids it today. McKinney constantly looks for a surprise finish—a strong slant in Sadykhov’s favor.
