Indianapolis Colts vs Philadelphia Eagles 8/24/2023 Tips, Odds and Analysis

Indianapolis Colts (0-0) vs Philadelphia Eagles (0-0)

Indianapolis Colts vs Philadelphia Eagles 8/24/2023 — The Indianapolis Colts may not make the playoffs the next season, but it doesn’t always mean they won’t. Indianapolis had a 4-12-1 record at the end of the miserable 2022-2023 season. That wasn’t how it was supposed to turn out. Following the addition of quarterback Matt Ryan to a roster that already had Jonathan Taylor, Michael Pittman Jr., and Shaq Leonard, the Colts were picked to win the AFC South and perhaps travel to the Super Bowl. But it’s obvious that didn’t take place. Ryan struggled greatly, which led to his termination from Indianapolis after just one season.

The Philadelphia Eagles have one of the strongest rosters heading into the 2017 campaign. The skill and depth of their current roster are demonstrated by their journey all the way to the Super Bowl in 2023. Darius Slay, Lane Johnson, A.J. Brown, Jason Kelce, and Jalen Hurts are a few of their well-known players. Hurts surpassed himself in 2022, guiding the Eagles to an incredible 14-3 record and a Super Bowl appearance. He received a nomination for his outstanding Pro Bowl, All-Pro, and MVP performances.

Indianapolis Colts QB Anthony Richardson and Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts

The Indianapolis Colts selected rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson to start their 2023 campaign this week, and he received starter’s treatment straight away. Richardson has the most promising potential in the 2023 NFL Draft. He tested as the most athletic quarterback to ever pass through the NFL Combine and has an NFL-caliber arm. Richardson does have one flaw, though, and that is that he is an unpolished passer. The fewest number of first-round picks to start 13 collegiate games in a career since 2000 was shared by Richardson and Mitch Trubisky.

After two years, Jalen Hurts is now in command in Philadelphia and the NFC. He led the team to its second appearance in the Super Bowl in the previous five years. Hurts, an All-Pro and MVP Runner-Up, helped the market come around after signing a hefty contract. We are checking up on the quarterbacks as we begin our preview series of the Eagles 2023 training camp now that most of the offseason is done and OTAs are almost here. Hurts made significant strides in 2022, leading the Eagles (14-3) to the Super Bowl and receiving MVP, Pro Bowl, and All-Pro selections.

Odds/Point Spread: Indianapolis Colts +5.5, Total Odds: 24

If Indianapolis can strengthen its offensive line, which was dreadful the prior year, it has a chance to progress. Steichen, the Colts’ offensive guru, is in command. In addition, they will have Taylor, Pittman, Alec Pierce, a potent bunch of wide receivers, including Richardson (or whoever they decide), and potentially an exciting rookie like Zay Flowers from Boston College. Their finest defender, Leonard, could be able to maintain his health.
