The Cowboys plant to target Richard Sherman

Dallas CowboysAs the Packers weren’t able to pose much of a threat to Seahawks CB Richard Sherman in their season’s opening game, and on Monday night the Redskins targeted the player on three occasions, the Cowboys are looking to really get to Sherman on Sunday’s game, and many pay per head fans can’t wait to see what they plan to do with the player.

“With all of the respect we have for him, we’re going to have to give him some business over there or we will hurt the balance of what we can do relative to certainly the passing game,” the Cowboys’ general manager/ owner said on Friday. “We can’t run from him. That’s easy to say and hard to do. We got to challenge him and make him at least cover us one-on-one, and Dez of course is the guy who can do it. So I don’t see us compromising the rest of our offense by running from Sherman like that.”

On Sunday, Dallas is set to take on Sherman and the Seahawks, and Sherman vs. Bryant is one the most important matchups of the game.

The Seahawks’ pay per head fans know that the team mostly play zone defense, and the very famous Sherman does not regularly change sides. He usually plays as left CB, and the right corner position goes to Byron Maxwell.

Bryant is normally on the left side, where this season he was targeted 17 times. However, it’s very possible that Sherman and Bryant will meet on more than one occasion.

“I know Deion [Sanders] was such a force for us, that people would run from him and it played right into our hands,” Jones said about the Hall of Famer CB who was a player for Dallas. “We had 10 people on nine players a lot of time because of Deion Sanders.”

Dallas isn’t worried about taking on their opponent’s top defensive players. When the Cowboys took on Houston last week, they chased DE J.J. Watt, and it didn’t matter if he was playing tackle or off the edge.

This season, Sherman only allowed a single pass for a TD, and on Monday night, the player was targeted by the Redskins on three occasions.

“It’s just mindset, you know,” said Bryant. “You have to go out there and play this game. No matter who it is, you have to go out there and play, and just like J.J. At the same time, you’ve got to give him that respect because you know there’s a reason we’re talking about him and you’ve got to prepare for players like that.”

And Bryant believes that he will take on one of the NFL’s best players.

“He’s big, he can run, he got length, you’ve got to play big,” said the player. “Like I said, you can’t just think you’re going to go in there and do this. You have to be well-prepared.”
