Local bookies know that Clemson’s Cole Stoudt will make the first start of his career, but this is somebody who really knows his way around the offense. However, the senior quarterback will be playing in a very dangerous environment, and many price per head agents would like to see how he will be able to deal with the pressure on August 30, in a game that many Live betting fans believe should be very intense.
Pay per head services learned that Kirk Herbstreit, college football analyst for ESPN, believes that Stoudt could be weighed down by Jeremy Pruitt – the Bulldogs’ new defensive coordinator who many local bookies believe could be a real threat to Clemson.
“That’s a tough game for a quarterback without a whole lot of experience,” Herbstreit said, “to step into without looking out there and seeing Sammy Watkins and some of the other skill that they had.”
Price per head agents saw that Pruitt joined the Bulldogs in January, and that took place less than two weeks after he led the defense of Florida State, when they played in the national championship. This game is still very fresh in the minds of many Live betting fans.
“Instead of a victory lap, he got on a plane and went to Athens,” said Herbstreit.
Local bookies saw that last season was Pruitt’s first one as a college coordinator. Price per head agents know that he worked as a defensive backs coach with Nick Saban’s staff at Alabama, and was also coaching top high school programs there.
“Basically a coach that brings a lot of Nick Saban and Kirby Smart’s mannerisms and scheme, kind of a hybrid 4-3 with 3-4 tendencies,” Herbstreit said. “He loves to confuse offensive linemen. He loves to confuse quarterbacks.”
Herbstreit and many Live betting fans believe that at Georgia, Stoudt could end up being the first victim of Pruitt.
“That’s one of those games where, if it were in Death Valley, you’d maybe say Clemson has a better chance obviously,” he added. “But going on the road with a young quarterback and some young skill against a very complicated, multiple defense, I think it’s a tough matchup.”
