Week 14 Monday Night Football: Green Bay Packers vs. Atlanta Falcons

Green Bay PackersThe Packers will do everything they can to avoid a loss after they were able to clinch a very nice win last week when they face the Falcons at home on Monday night, in a game that internet bookmakers believe should not be missed.

Green Bay beat the Patriots 26-21 in a battle of two of the top teams in the NFL, and out of nine meetings, they were able to cover for the seventh time.

Atlanta are 4-0 ATS as the dogs in the double-digits, and this happens to only be the third time that the team got this amount of points since 2002.

The betting line opened with the Packers being the favorites by 10.5 points, but in the middle of the week that number was moving to 14, and 56 was the total.

Last season, Atlanta were able to cover three games on the road during the last month, and these include being beaten 22-21 by the Packers at Lambeau Field as the dogs with 3.5 points. However, Green Bay QB Aaron Rodgers did not feature in that meeting, but after two weeks they also visited the 49ers and covered a spread of 14 points in a loss of 34-24.

But in contrast to last year, there is still plenty left for the Falcons to do this season, especially with the NFC South title still available. They continue to be tied 5-7 with the Saints for the lead in the division, and in two weeks they’re set to face them in a road game .

It doesn’t matter if the Falcons end up losing or winning this meeting – at this time of the season they must continue doing their best on the field.

Green Bay went 5-0 ATS the last five times that they played at home, and were able to win them with a 26.4-point average. They just left a very big win at home when they beat New England, and will take on a Falcons side whose defense is clearly not at their level.

Atlanta have a ranking of last place when it comes to their passing defense, as they gave up 285 yards in each game played in the air and now the team will take on Rodgers, who many fans believe could be the best QB in the NFL. The Falcons had no need to be concerned last week when it came to Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald, and the team was able to shut down their offense on their way to a win of 29-18 as the favorites at home by 1.5 points.

This week, there will be plenty for the Falcons to be concerned when they visit Lambeau Field, as Atlanta are only 2-8 ATS in the last 10 games that they played on the road.

The Packers are simply doing too good of a job on the field, and internet bookmakers believe that they shouldn’t have any trouble at all winning this showdown by two TD’s – at least – for their sixth cover in a row at home.
