Pay per Head: Viking’s Peterson not worried about missing time

On Thursday, Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson said that he was dealing with his right hamstring injury for four or five weeks, but pay per head services were relieved to learn that what started the injury was a bruise, and not a pulled muscle, and the player said that he isn’t worried about missing time.

Peterson only carried 13 times for 28 yards when the Vikings were defeated 23-7 on Monday by the New York Giants, and pay per head services saw that the player only got 10 carries the week before that in a loss to the Carolina Panthers. But Peterson said if the hamstring injury affected his performance in any way, it’s been more about it leading him to doubt himself than anything physical.

“I feel like it was more in my mind. It’s strange to say that, but I think I was kind of holding myself back, not being able to stretch out and really run. I think I was kind of hindering myself. Now that I’m able to be more relaxed and got a clearer mind, I think I’ll be able to go out there and roll full-speed.”

Price per head services saw that on Monday night, Peterson only carried five times in the second half, in a game where 53 passes were thrown by QB Josh Freeman. The player also said after that game that the team needs to play a more physical game on offense, and left tackle Matt Kalil believes that if Minnesota’s offensive linemen are able to hold their blocks for one more second, the holes would be ready for Peterson.

However, pay per head services saw that Minnesota also didn’t show the same patience with their running game that they had last year, when the team were often willing to send Peterson into packed fronts when they knew that sooner or later he’d break a big run. The RB said that he wasn’t sure why this year the team was less willing to continue with the run, but added that he didn’t tell the coaching staff about there being more balance on offense.

“I don’t think I had to,” he said.
