Again, Oregon are the favorites for their clash in the Pac-12 North with Stanford, but sports betting fans can see that for the Cardinal, that isn’t very important at all, as in each one of the last two seasons they were able to beat the Ducks while making it to consecutive championships in the conference. On Saturday night, the Cardinal will try to beat the Ducks for the third time in a row when both teams square off at Autzen Stadium.
The betting line opened with the Ducks being the favorites by 12.5 points.
Stanford were just able to bounce back after they were beaten a couple of weeks ago by the Arizona State Sun Devils, as last week they gave the Oregon State Beavers a 38-14 pounding, and were able to easily cover as the favorites by 12 points. In total offense, the Cardinal were able to double up Oregon State 438-221, and six sacks helped when OSU were held to only 12 rushing yards.
Stanford seem to be having plenty of problems with their offense, as they’re ranked 84th place overall, and 93rd place in rushing, but the team’s defense has a second overall ranking. Against the run they are fifth, and they only allow 91 yards in each game played. With 13 points per game, they also have second place when it comes to points allowed. As the underdogs last year with 10 points, the Cardinal were able to build a lead of 26-0 over Oregon, and could hold on for a win of 26-20.
Oregon are bit rusty right now, but the Ducks continue to compete for the title in the conference and to have a place in the College Football Playoffs this year. The Ducks just got 59 in a win at California, and they covered as the favorites on the road by 17 points. 28 points were given by Oregon during the first half of their meeting with the Golden Bears – then in the second half they were held to 13 points while they pulled away in that part of the game. Oregon is now 3-0 both SU and ATS.
Oregon most likely have a more solid team for this upcoming game, but sports betting fans saw that lately Stanford were able to hold the Ducks to a 34-point total in the series’ last two games.
The Ducks are also only 2-5 ATS in their last seven meetings played at home, partly due to the high spreads. For this upcoming game, this could also happen; so many price per head experts believe that the money should go with the Cardinal.
