Sports software services believe that the Jets just received a very big boost, as they made a trade with the Seahawks and acquired the services of Percy Harvin. News of the deal was officially announced by the team on Saturday.
“Percy is a versatile, dynamic player who has been productive on offense and special teams,” said John Idzik, Jets GM. “We’re excited about adding him to the Jets.”
What Idzik said did not drive the fans crazy, and the Seahawks were not nearly as excited, as GM John Schneider said that the move was “an extremely difficult decision” in a statement that was released by Seattle.
“Although this was an extremely difficult decision, we are constantly evaluating our team and believe at this time, that this is in our best interest to move the team forward,” said Schneider. “We thank Percy for his efforts that contributed to a Super Bowl XLVIII victory and wish him well.”
News of the player’s trade was made in the midst of plenty of speculation that he isn’t able to fit in with the Seahawks, something that many fans suspected.
On Friday evening, there were reports of the player punching Golden Tate, former WR for the Seahawks, in the week before the Super Bowl took place.
Sports software services heard that there’s plenty of gossip regarding a fight with Doug Baldwin, a fight that almost happened with Russell Wilson, as well as Harvin apparently not willing to re-join the game when the Seahawks faced the Cowboys on Week 6.
David Nelson, who featured recently because of his work in helping orphaned children in Haiti, was released in order for the deal to be made.
Many fans can see how much talk there is in the football world about the player’s move, and hope that the deal will benefit both teams this season. It’s pretty clear that the Jets are in no easy position at all, and many experts believe that the player’s addition to their ranks could prove to be of great benefit to the team.
