IDSca.com vs Competitors Chart
The next Rogers Cup tournaments will be held in Montreal and Toronto from August 6-14, just before the start of the last Grand Slam tournament, U.S. Open 2011.
Tennis fans will have the chance to see all the best players in the world in one place. The Top 55 players in the world will be at Canada, including both world No. 1 Novak Djokovic and defending Rogers Cup champion Caroline Wozniacki.
The Top 25 women of the WTA will play at Rexall Centre in Toronto, while the Top 30 males of the ATP World Tour will compete at Uniprix Stadium in Montreal.
The Rogers Cup entry list also includes six-time French Open champion Rafael Nadal, 16-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer, Scottish star Andy Murray, Australian Open champion Kim Clijsters and Williams sisters, Venus and Serena. In addition, Russian Maria Sharapova and the recent Grand Slam winners Li Na and Petra Kvitova will also be attending this tournament.
However, No. 25 in the ATP rankings Milos Raonic will not be playing in next month's Rogers Cup. The Canadian player underwent hip surgery and he won't be stepping on a tennis court for six weeks.
On the other hand, Canadian Rebecca Marino, currently ranked No.40 in the world, almost surely WILL play in Toronto despite not being included in Wednesday's list of players. This will be Marino’s first Rogers Cup main draw.
In addition, something new and that will be really attractive in this year's tournament is the Rogers Legends Cup, which will be featured by ATP tennis legends Andre Agassi, John McEnroe, Jim Courier and Michael Chang. These players will be competing in a mini-tournament from August 12-14 at Rexall Centre as well.
With all these top players, it seems the Rogers Cup will be an interesting tournament to enjoy this August. We hope to see some great tennis action and the best tennis players of the world all in the same place.
